Washington, D.C. Goes Pink

This July, Barbie® painted the town pink when she flew in for the annual National Barbie® Doll Collectors Convention.

D.C. was packed with Barbie® fans from around the world, who gathered to celebrate 50 years of fashion, fun, and fabulousness.

Some of the haute highlights included glittery evening galas, doll shopping, and fashion and musical stage shows that honored Barbie® and her ever-evolving look.

Doll-lightful Exhibit

The birthday celebration continues in the land down under. From June 26 to July 12, a special Barbie® exhibition ran in Melbourne’s Federation Square honoring the world’s most iconic fashion doll.

At the opening gala, Australian Vogue editor Kirstie Clements discussed Barbie® and her impact on popular culture.

Even Barbie® designer Robert Best was on hand to kick off the fashionable festivities.

Fab Fashion Exhibition

What do Jean-Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, and Diane von Furstenberg have in common? They're all designing one-of-a-kind fashions for Barbie®!

In fact, they're just a few of the 50 designers whose Barbie® couture creations were on display in April at Galleries Layfayette, a department store in Paris.

Barbie's Birthday Bash

On March 8th, Barbie is inviting all her fans to come celebrate her anniversary at an amazing party at London's premiere toy destination, Hamley's. The lady in question will open a brand new state-of-the-art window dedicated to herself and will then be on hand all day to meet her fans. Expect arts, crafts, fashion and beauty plus tons of birthday treats.

Design A Dress for Barbie!

From March, Barbie will be appearing on kids channel Boomerang as her sponsorship of their programmes begins. Look out for her very own fashion tips and also a competition offering the chance to design Barbie an outfit to win a collection of Barbie goodies!

Barbie steals the limelight at London Fashion Week

Fresh from wowing the fashion industry in New York, Barbie has sponsored the shows of two of the UK's leading female fashion talents at London Fashion Week which kicks off this weekend. Famed for her individual look, Danielle Scutt's show was on Sunday 22nd February whilst Roksanda Illincic's elegant collection was presented on Monday 23rd. Both designers have also created a new look for Barbie; inspired by their latest collections and Barbie's impressive fashion credentials, which will go on sale later in the year at London's Dover Street Market.

Celebrate Barbie's Birthday!

On March 9, Barbie will pop the corks and will be celebrating her 50th Anniversary - and you can be there, too!

The first big party of the year will start with lots of surprises at 11 a.m. at Karstadt in Hamburg Mönckebergstrasse. among other things you can meet Barbie personally and see many rare and valuable Barbie collector dolls owned and displayed by Barbie collector Bettina Dorfmann.

This party is the start of a series of anniversary events all over Germany.

Superstar Michelle Hunziker is the godmother of Barbie's 50th Birthday celebration.

The godmother for the Barbie 50th Anniversary tells about her experience with the most famous doll in the world. During the press conference, Michelle Hunziker remembers a lot of episodes, when she played with Barbie, invented stories and sewed her dresses.

ECI Barbie Collector Exhibition focus.

Barbie Collector exhibition will road across Spain, inviting people to see a selection of 150 dolls representing Barbie´s 50 years of history.

Also will place an area with dolls to play with and an area to draw your Barbie (mum & girl) and participate into a contest.
